GDAS APU service is comprehensive. We handle repair, maintenance and replacement with expertise and efficiency. On heavy jobs — such as turbine assembly repairs, rotor balancing, Electronic Sequence Unit (ESU) and Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) repairs, and reliability upgrades — the average shop visit ranges from seven to 10 days.
Our line maintenance support includes parts, APU inspections, preventative maintenance, APU and component replacement, and troubleshooting.
GDAS is your exclusive source for Hamilton Sundstrand APU component and training manuals. We maintain and update the manuals in our electronic library. Organized by model, these manuals are available by subscription at myGDAS.com. To initiate your subscription click here.
GDAS maintains an extensive spare-parts inventory and a large pool of exchange and rental APUs, ready for same-day shipment. Our electronic repair technician works full time to keep ESU and STAB (Speed, Temperature, and Air Bleed) boxes repaired and in service. This is a challenging business. Many of the internal parts are obsolete and difficult to obtain. Our technician and buyers work closely with our vendors to keep parts supplies available.
GDAS runs every APU in our test cell to validate performance before it is certified and returned to service. We also utilize the test cell for troubleshooting unusual APU performance issues, ESU fault code verification, and pinpointing fluid leaks.
GDAS developed the GDAS Universal APU fuel pump and fuel control test bench to support our APU services. This state-of-the-art fuel bench is capable of calibrating and testing fuel controls and pumps from various manufacturers, including Hamilton Sundstrand and Honeywell.
When your Electronic Sequence Unit (ESU) or Speed, Temperature and Air Bleed (STAB) box is in our shop for repair, GDAS will provide you with a no-charge loaner until we've fixed your component. We have also developed specialized test equipment to assist in the troubleshooting process. Our customers can rent or borrow these tools and perform the analysis at their own location.
GDAS provides formal APU Line Maintenance training. We offer two-day courses for the Gemini and T39/T40 series. This training is FAA approved, and our schedule is on the GDAS Web site.
