GENERAL DYNAMICS AVIATION SERVICES SITES RECOGNIZED FOR 100 PERCENT PARTICIPATION IN FAA AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE TRAINING PROGRAM

SAVANNAH, Ga., April 17, 2003 - General Dynamics Aviation Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has received special recognition from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for 100 percent participation of its maintenance technicians in the Aviation Maintenance Technician Awards program.

The General Dynamics Aviation Services sites at Las Vegas; Westfield, Mass.; and West Palm Beach, Fla. were three of only 61 aircraft maintenance facilities worldwide that earned this special recognition from FAA headquarters in Washington, D.C.

"The FAA's recognition of these three service centers is very rewarding, especially since this company was established just two years ago," said Larry Flynn, president, General Dynamics Aviation Services.

"The three general managers who oversee these service centers have done an outstanding job of motivating and developing their technical staff. Additionally, the maintenance technicians at these facilities are commended for their pursuit of being the best in the industry," added Flynn. "We're especially proud to share this recognition with our customers who put their faith in us to keep their aircraft operating safely."

The FAA Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Awards Program is an incentive program conducted by the FAA Safety Program that recognizes eligible aviation maintenance technicians and employers who receive or foster initial and recurrent aviation maintenance training.

Last month General Dynamics Aviation Services announced that all five of its service centers located in Minneapolis; Westfield, Mass.; West Palm Beach, Fla.; Dallas and Las Vegas had also earned the FAA's Diamond Certificate of Excellence in recognition of their training programs.
