GENERAL DYNAMICS AVIATION SERVICES MAINTENANCE CENTER RECEIVES CHALLENGER® RATING

FAA Rating Allows Florida Aircraft Service Center to Perform Maintenance on Challenger 600, 601 and 604 Aircraft

SAVANNAH, Ga., March 28, 2003 - General Dynamics Aviation Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to perform maintenance on Challenger® 600, 601 and 604 business jet aircraft at its West Palm Beach, Fla., facility.

"We listened to Challenger owners and operators in the South Florida area," said Larry Flynn, president, General Dynamics Aviation Services. "Our West Palm Beach service center pursued the rating certificate after learning that Challenger owners and operators in the region wanted more service and maintenance options when deciding where to take their aircraft.

"In fact, within an hour of receiving the certification, a Challenger owner who heard of the facility's new rating taxied his aircraft directly to the General Dynamics Aviation Services hangar at Palm Beach International Airport. The rating certificate was being posted as the aircraft rolled in."

In addition to Challenger aircraft, General Dynamics Aviation Services' West Palm Beach facility performs service and maintenance on Citation, Falcon, Hawker, Gulfstream, Learjet® and other business jet aircraft.

"This additional aircraft rating positions us well in the South Florida business jet repair and modifications market," Flynn added.

General Dynamics Aviation Services' West Palm Beach facility employs 54 maintenance technicians and features 46,200 square feet of hangar space and another 8,000 square feet of support shops. The service center, which began operations two years ago, has earned the prestigious Diamond Certificate of Excellence award, the highest recognition level for maintenance training.

In addition to Challenger, Citation, Falcon, Hawker and Learjet business aircraft, General Dynamics Aviation Services' West Palm Beach service center provides airframe, avionics, engine and refurbishment services for the entire Gulfstream fleet.

The West Palm Beach service center is one of five General Dynamics Aviation Service facilities. The others are located in Las Vegas, Dallas, Minneapolis and Westfield, Mass.
