GENERAL DYNAMICS AVIATION SERVICES' FIVE CENTERS RECEIVE AVIATION MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN DIAMOND AWARDS
Industry's Diamond Certificate of Excellence Recognizes Highest Level of Maintenance Training

SAVANNAH, Ga., March 19, 2003 - General Dynamics Aviation Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has received the Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Diamond Certificate of Excellence Award for each of its five aircraft service centers. The prestigious award recognizes the highest levels of maintenance training available today.

General Dynamics Aviation Services centers - located in Las Vegas; Dallas; Minneapolis; Westfield, Mass.; and West Palm Beach, Fla. - became eligible for the employer Diamond Award when 25 percent of each site's eligible employees received a minimum of six hours of training during the calendar year. While only 25 percent employee participation was required to earn the site Diamond Award, some 76 percent of General Dynamics Aviation Services' eligible employees participated in the training program. Three sites - Las Vegas, Westfield and West Palm Beach - had 100 percent employee participation. Additionally, nearly 160 aircraft technicians at the five aircraft service centers received individual awards for completing a minimum of six hours of AMT training during the year.

"In the two years since General Dynamics Aviation Services was established, we have earned the industry's highest recognition for maintenance training for all five of our centers," said Larry Flynn, president, General Dynamics Aviation Services. "This represents confirmation of our commitment to our customers - the aircraft owners and operators who rely on us to service their business jets. By investing in our people, we are ensuring that the service and maintenance provided by General Dynamics Aviation Services is being performed by the most highly trained technicians in the industry."

General Dynamics Aviation Services centers meet the service and maintenance needs of owners and operators of Challenger, Falcon, Gulfstream and Hawker business jets.

The AMT certificate program, created in 1992, recognizes eligible technicians and employers with Bronze, Silver, Gold, Ruby or Diamond Awards.
