SAVANNAH, Ga., March 12,
2003 - General Dynamics Aviation Services' West Palm Beach,
Fla., service and maintenance center has received approval to
perform service and maintenance on Brazilian- and Venezuelan-registered
business jet aircraft. Approval from Brazil's Departamento de
Aviacao Civil (DAC) and Venezuela's Direccion de Aeronautica Civil
(DAC) permits a Brazilian or Venezuelan aircraft operator to retain
the services of the West Palm Beach center, which performs maintenance
on Challenger, Citation, Falcon, Gulfstream, Hawker and other
business jet aircraft.
A wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), General
Dynamics Aviation Services also has aircraft service centers in
Las Vegas, Dallas, Minneapolis, Minn., and Westfield, Mass.
"In receiving these governments' official approval, we've
eliminated the lengthy authorization process required of Brazilian-
and Venezuelan-registered aircraft operators who choose to have
their aircraft serviced outside their home country," said
Larry Flynn, president, General Dynamics Aviation Services. "Brazilian
and Venezuelan operators will have much more flexibility to schedule
maintenance when it is most convenient for them - at home, during
a business trip or while on vacation."
A Federal Aviation Administration-approved repair station, the
West Palm Beach aircraft service center has received the Aircraft
Maintenance Technician Diamond Certificate of Excellence. The
highest training award level within the aircraft maintenance industry,
the Diamond award recognizes an organization's commitment to aircraft
maintenance training.
Located conveniently at the Palm Beach International Airport,
General Dynamics Aviation Services' West Palm Beach facility features
46, 200 square feet of hangar space and another 8,000 square feet
dedicated to support shops.
In addition to Challenger, Citation, Falcon, Hawker and other
business jet aircraft, General Dynamics Aviation Services' West
Palm Beach service center provides airframe, avionics, engine
and refurbishment services for the entire Gulfstream fleet.
