GENERAL DYNAMICS AVIATION SERVICES APPOINTS ELCORTA AND TRIMEC AVIATION AS AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTERS
Elcorta and Trimec to Provide Service and Maintenance for Westwind Aircraft

ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 11, 2002 - General Dynamics Aviation Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), today announced that Elcorta Inc. and Trimec Aviation have been appointed authorized line service centers for the Westwind business jet aircraft. Following General Dynamics' purchase of Galaxy Aerospace in June 2001, General Dynamics Aviation Services assumed product support of the mid-size Westwind.

"With more than 35 years of combined turbine aircraft maintenance experience, Elcorta and Trimec have the reputation and experience we trust to properly maintain the Westwind fleet," said Mike Rexroat, director of Westwind product support, General Dynamics Aviation Services. "These appointments are valuable additions to an effective network of service facilities that support more than 200 in-service Westwinds today."

Elcorta, located at the New Castle County Airport in Wilmington, Del., keeps its overhead low by concentrating on what it does best - turbine aircraft maintenance. Customers also save an additional 5 percent to 8 percent because Delaware does not have a sales tax. Certified by the Federal Aviation Administration, Elcorta also provides avionics trouble-shooting and installations, fuel boost pump overhauls and pre-buy surveys.

Trimec, located at Meacham Airport in Fort Worth, Texas, specializes in Westwind aircraft. Collectively, the company's employees have more than 100 years experience working on Westwinds. Trimec provides an array of services that support the Westwind, including interior avionics service and installation; aircraft modification; engineering/certification; engine maintenance; and part sales.

The twin-engine Westwind business jet, powered by Honeywell TFE731 turbofans, can fly six to eight passengers and two pilots anywhere within the 48 contiguous states without refueling.
