Savannah, Ga., July 23, 2001 - Darrell
Frey has been appointed General Manager of General Dynamics Aviation
Services' service center in West Palm Beach, Fla. In his new role,
Frey will be responsible for all aircraft services performed on
business jets such as Challenger, Falcon, Gulfstream and Hawker
aircraft.
"Darrell's extensive experience overseeing the maintenance
of business jets in both the military and private sector makes
him very qualified to run this aircraft service center,"
said Larry Flynn, president of General Dynamics Aviation Services.
Most recently, Frey worked for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation
in Savannah as a manager of its service center operations. He
joined Gulfstream in 1987 as a maintenance technician, working
on Gulfstream aircraft. He was promoted to crew chief in 1994.
Frey served in the U.S. Navy, working on TC-4C aircraft for three
years. He holds a Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and
Powerplant Mechanic certification and is a member of the Professional
Aviation Maintenance Association. He also serves on the board
of directors of the Gulfstream-Savannah chapter of the National
Management Association.
General Dynamics Aviation Services (GDAS) was formed earlier
this year to meet the maintenance needs of Challengers, Falcons,
Gulfstreams, Hawkers and other business jet aircraft. GDAS extends
the organizational strength and experience of the Company's Gulfstream
Aircraft Services organization to a broader range of business
aircraft owners through regional maintenance centers in Minneapolis,
MN; Westfield, MA; West Palm Beach, FL; Dallas, TX and Las Vegas,
NV.
